First snows of the year

First snow of the season

First snow of the season

It’s that time of the year again and it’s snowing at the house. We had a few flurries, especially up higher during homecoming but this is the first snow that’s accumulating.
Won’t be long before we start tuning the skis.

Pine flooring is done – completely

Pine floors are done

Pine floors are done

The floors are finally finished – something is done – completely done! Correction, the pine floors are done, still need to do the tile/slate floors in the bathrooms and entryway.
We saved a little money by not going with hand cut nails – I know think that was a mistake. They used a punch to put a square hole in the floor to make the nail-gun nails look like hand cut nails but the holes are so deep, it just seems like a place to collect dirt. Live and learn I guess. Anyway, if this becomes the biggest thing I have to worry about then I can live with it.

Jack and Jenna at the start of our little hike

A lot is going on at the house. We went up Sunday to paint around all the windows and doors. Seb’s crew will finish trimming the rest of the doors and windows and we wanted to simplify painting afterwords. I took the kids for the day and let Denise do the painting. We went for a little hike on the West Mountain Falls trail and we had a lot of fun throwing rocks in the river.
